Hello and happy August! Sorry to be absent of late. We have been busy and busy and busy. There have also been a few days where we did nothing. It was wonderful. I can't believe that summer is coming to a close. I thought I would update you bullet-point style and throw in a few pictures. ☺
- Our time in Idaho was a BLAST! The girls and I explored and adventured.
We went to a nature center and the local zoo. The highlight for me was
the giraffes -- they were AMAZING! David had a terrific time at
Commander College. I am so proud of him and the hard work he put in over the
course of the weekend. Our club year will be an awesome one, I can't wait! One of the activities we were able to join him on, was the dinner train. What beautiful scenery! I even got a little crocheting in...so delightful!

- The following weekend, I went to spend it with my BGF. It was such a relaxing time for the both of us. She has been busy with her nursing residency and I with keeping up with the girlies over the summer. We went to a baseball game {which was a night dedicated to yarn craftting. saaaaa-weet!}, ate lots of yummy food, visited, knitted&crocheted, stayed up late...you know, girl stuff. It was so delightful to spend that time together.
- We have been watching TONS of Olympic coverage here at our casa. I LOVE the Olympics and all the stories of the different athletes. I seriously cry every time they share a story of an Olympian and the process by which they got there. You can't help but fall in love with them and their stories. The girls and I especially loved the swimming and gymnastics. Keep up the good work -- Go USA!
- I have also been doing lots of crocheting. Oh how I love it. There is so much hooky goodness to be made, I can't help myself. ☺ I have made good progress on my granny stripe blanket, started another group of these lovely coasters and finished a sunglasses case for myself. I followed this pattern for the sunglasses case {her site is lovely, lovely and becoming one of my favorites}. I think that the bobble stitch is a new favorite!

- We have been also been making lots of trips to the library, playing with friends and enjoying the summer weather. I can't believe that in 3 weeks the girls start school! We still have a few fun things up our sleeve before our summer is over. The best part is that the girls don't know what is to come. Heehee. It has been SO hard to keep it a secret. I can't wait to see their expressions when we tell them...☺
I probably will be intermittent with blog posts until school starts. Until then, I hope all of you enjoy your summers too. Talk soon friends! ☺
OHh...it was a wonderful weekend! I loved having you here, BGF!!!
